Nice action.  The pileup in that fog bank reminds me of my current CG4 turn.

Someday (likely for me in CG4) there will be a “customsgeddon” where there are far more customs in play than Wizkids ships, and nobody watching will have any idea what’s going on because they haven’t heard of any ships mentioned in a battle report.  XD  I like the 4 ma…[Read more]

HUGE thank you’s to Tilorfire27 (discord username) for his online database, and to jetmoto-1996 for his Full Catalog he so graciously shared and is allowing me to put on the site!  I have put links to both databases (which include pictures of the game pieces) on both my homepage and the Information and Stats page which is linked from the main menu.

Found my childhood collection the other way while organizing

Nice!  The video link isn’t working for me – looks like it’s on a manage/edit setting rather than a shareable URL.

  • My wife is sewing/quilting a playmat for me complete with non-skid backing. I plan on teaching her the game once that is finished.

    Did it happen?

I would love to buy another booster box! There’s something so cathartic about cracking 36 packs! I am also considering buying a plunder pack- I currently have no 10 masters,

    Did you buy both?

Really interesting French attack on The Devil’s Maw.

I’m interested in that Acorazado setup with Blanco.

RIP to the first Inquisition ship both that I owned and that The Inquisitor did. I know I had a second one but pretty sure its sails broke too years ago. Inquisition fleets will never be the same.

At least it’s a common ship you can probably find for cheap!

  • I would also like to have seen player tins which would come with packs containing everything you need to build a 40 point fleet for a specific faction.

This is a neat idea that accomplishes the starter deck mission without giving everyone the exact same fleet to work with.

  • Load this treasure face-down. You may reveal it at the beginning of one of your turns and roll a d6. On a result of 6 this ship may take it’s turn twice. On a result of 1-3 this ship may not be given any actions this turn, and it’s next turn. Once revealed this treasure cannot be removed from this ship, if this treasure is removed from play, the…

  • At the beginning of your turn you may roll a d6. On a result of 6, you may take two turns in a row. On a result of 1, your turn ends immediately, and you lose your next turn. This treasure cannot be removed from this ship. If this ship sinks, the game ends.

O_O  What?!  Yikes… this is on another level.  I could easily use this in CG4 with the Ar…[Read more]

That Spanish Eternal fleet could be interesting if it changes how an adversary fights.  An opponent will want to strip those ships of crew (oarsmen) or need extra cancelling help to deal with them.  As long as those Spanish ships have plenty of support, it could be a real pain to deal with.

@Derrick Derksen: Wow that sounds awesome!  Glad it went well.

The good – The game types are challenging and require a lot of planning and strategy to win.

This sounds great and right up my alley.  I hope to try them sometime!  😀  Thanks again for sharing.

  • stuff will eventually get to that level.

Good good, let the broken flow through you.  XD

Interesting UT’s, I like some of these.  They might be ready for an “exploit”….

The Kaukau: At the beginning of your turn, roll a d6. The result is the number of turns this ship may use the Seafloor Traveler keyword.

Quite interesting.  Why can you scuttle the derelict normally if that is the win condition?  Any method of sinking it could cause a draw.

King of the Hill sounds even cooler to me.  I like it!  A variant could be the first player to capture the fort using some boarding over land metric (such as the fort has a boarding score of 8).

    I like how bot…[Read more]

  •  I feel like Nordic Raiders is the rarer of the two… but message in a bottle has better pieces?

Not sure which one is rarer.  Both have some very unique game pieces.  USS Mercury is one of the best submarines in the game, and the combos available for the Slipstream are undoubtedly amazing (some combos probably still out there that may not have…[Read more]

If they were only licensing it from someone it’s far enough out at this point that they may not have the legal rights anymore.

Hmmm.  I’m not even sure what to think anymore.

If they do fully own the license, it’s been sitting long enough that it would take a massively increased general interest in pirate things for them to dig that treasure back…

Some interesting developments for sure.  It would be neat to see a 3 way battle with Pirates vs. French vs. Spanish.  The French do actually have a lot of firepower in play, they just haven’t fought as much as the other two so far.

Yes….. did it seem like I implied otherwise?

I think you said “at the end of the current resource round”, which for a second made me think it meant the current round overall.

So which custom ships do you like better? The wooden variety from Cloud of Craft? Or the 3D printed versions offered by Vulkan?

3D printed materials are just more durable than thin wood, so they’ll work better for gameplay.  Plus the full art is nice, though I suppose a decal/colored art solution for wood paste might be feasible.

  • This may be the wrong place to ask, but is there a thread for custom game rules?

    Game Ideas is the place!
