Signed up for Teespring and now you can get some Pirates CSG shirts! 😀
There’s a wide variety of colors and types, and I plan to keep adding stuff to the store in the near future.

Derp. I’m the type of person to just completely forget about that. Maybe I’ll get arrested for being a real “pirate”. XD
I did try making a “serious collector” shirt with all of the different pack artwork on it, but Teespring took it down quickly. So maybe the first shirt will also get hit. At some point it’s hard to care, and there comes a point where I’d rather push boundaries than sit around for years without trying stuff.

Thanks! A fun little experiment for now. I hope the quality comes out okay if anyone buys any. I’m thinking I might have to get one for myself. 🙂

Your lack of “r” is getting amusing lol.
I get some profit on the sales because it’s a Teespring store I created. They must make some money as well, but I don’t know if there’s another party that can make money too.
June 19, 2019 at 7:48 PM #6205EdParticipant*puts hands in pockets and anxiously looks around* I ALSO DONT KNOW IF THERE IS A 3RD PARTY…

Ah crud, I totally didn’t see that until just now. 😀
Anyway, cool. I don’t think I’d do that until I had built up a following on YT.

Yeah, the youtube default description is pretty much the only place I’m advertising it right now, and I think I’ll keep it that way in case I might get in trouble. XD
(I’m also kinda skeptical of how much bigger I can grow my YT subscriber fan base, since I’ve made and promoted a TON of videos since summer 2017 and the game is not remotely popular in the first place)
July 1, 2019 at 3:14 PM #6747BenKeymasterAfter he liked my Instagram post a few years back, today I sent PotC actor Martin Klebba (Marty) his crew card from the PotC set along with an unopened pack from the set! 😀
July 4, 2019 at 5:33 PM #6906BenKeymasterHere’s a nightmare custom ability. Massive headaches would ensue: Once per turn, roll a d6. On a 6 your opponent cannot give their ships free actions on their next turn.
I think this falls under the “just don’t” category. XD
July 13, 2019 at 10:14 PM #7490BenKeymasterThis is why I love the internet. Today alone I have messaged and gotten responses from Woelf, Holofernes, and Tiffany O’Brien. I also got in contact with Piranha (Tony Vigil, the original Rules Arbitrator) within the past week. 😀
Now we just need more people posting on the Forum! ^

July 25, 2019 at 7:52 PM #8125BenKeymasterHuzzah it’s a party here! 5 people online at once! XD 😀
July 26, 2019 at 10:43 AM #8150El CazadorParticipantI find it amusing that our French ships from the Royal period fly Napoleon’s revolutionary Tricolor. The Spanish also use a more modern design instead of the Habsburg “Cross of Burgundy” or one of the earlier Trastamara or later Bourbon flags. I would have liked to see more variety here, but identifying the ships is more important than the accuracy of the flag.
July 28, 2019 at 8:22 AM #8250BenKeymasterA friend of DiggerDaviez posted a video on youtube recently, nice to see another person making video content for the game besides just Xerecs and I.

They are great! As my experience has grown over the years I’ve started to disagree with a few of them, but it’s a great resource and fun to just look through.
August 7, 2019 at 9:11 PM #8820BenKeymasterGot some pretty wild, crazy, and fun fleets brewing for that game I’ve talked about a little, hopefully to happen in September. I’m thinking I might release at least one of the fleets to be used in the game, but I don’t want to release all of them beforehand. Almost all of the fleets use only Wizkids pieces, but the final fleet for the game I just made includes stuff from regular sets, RtSS, customs from my Epic Seas set, AND an unreleased ship. O_O
All in favor of seeing at least one of the fleets, say aye. XD
August 13, 2019 at 3:45 PM #8984ThomasParticipantI’m very excited that I have found a website that still remembers Pirates Of The Spanish Main and the following sets. Currently I am fleet building and I’m trying to find Loki’s Revenge, can anyone tell me what set that comes from. (haven’t played since Davy Jones Curse)

I’m excited to see another new member!
The Loki’s Revenge is from Frozen North; you can find all of the game pieces in the Master Spreadsheet.
Feel free to post any fleets you make in this thread!
August 15, 2019 at 5:23 PM #9069BenKeymasterI’m hoping to use points in play + gold as the win condition for the game I hope to start either this month or next month. More details may or may not follow… 😀

August 20, 2019 at 12:45 PM #9192KarningulParticipantI assembled some 60-plus ships over the last week or two, and this got me thinking…how many times do we suppose the production process WK was using changed during the game’s run? I identified the following trends that I feel are consistent enough to be significant:
Barbary Coast is where I feel like I first noticed a change – the slots seem to have been cut smaller (or the tabs bigger). This is the first set where it felt like I sometimes had to struggle to get a ship together. It’s not nearly as bad or as consistent as some later sets, but this is the first time I noticed it showing up.
South China Seas and Davy Jones’ Curse both had the well-known issue with the art coming off if the card gets hit with so much as a light breeze. In contrast to BC though, I would say I found these to generally be easy to assemble – whatever was going on with the cut of the tabs and slots in BC wasn’t an issue here.
In Frozen North the plastic is noticeably stiffer. I’m pretty sure I could tell the difference between a card from FN and a card from any earlier set with my eyes closed. This is the only set where I’ve ever broken a ship while trying to assemble it – the stiffness of the hull pieces makes it a little tricky to get the tabs in. I’ve only ever assembled two ships from Mysterious Islands, so I don’t know whether this problem started there – maybe someone else can chime in on that set.
Ocean’s Edge seems to have remedied the excessive stiffness a bit, but the cut of the slots and tabs just flat out don’t fit anymore. It’s like they took the difficulty of assembly from BC and turned it up to eleven. I can’t even imagine the annoyance of trying to play ‘by the rules’ with ships from this set – once the masts go in, they really don’t want to come out again. I’ve never broken a ship from OE, but I’ve definitely been worried I was going to.
And then came Pirates of the Carribean…and it seems like they fixed every problem I’ve ever had from this point forward. I don’t know if changing the shape of the tabs is responsible, but assembly became easy again. They also somehow made the artwork almost impossible to scratch off. If I have one criticism, it’s that they got rid of the pennants. I get the change in the sail design – the gaps between the sails on the old style masts always made them a little flimsy. But why did they decide not to keep putting pennants on top of the mainmast? The pennants look cool!
August 24, 2019 at 9:00 PM #9211BenKeymasterI talked about my experience with this in 2016, though to a slightly different extent and opinion.
But why did they decide not to keep putting pennants on top of the mainmast? The pennants look cool!
I agree. I remember reading that a lot of people didn’t use them so there just wasn’t demand. Probably saved them a little money on the printing of each ship in the later sets. Perfect for marking islands explored.
August 31, 2019 at 7:49 PM #9252BenKeymaster6×150 game update: THERE WILL BE A WATERFALL. 😀
Here are my notes on the subject: Waterfall/uneven heights: Uneven tables at different heights. Waterfall into bay. Can only go down onto lower ocean, not back up unless Turbine/Submarine (perhaps sea creatures too). Whirlpools on lower table that can be used to get to whirlpools on higher table.
In addition, I think two more rules will be in effect. Ships shooting over the “Ocean’s Edge” will have Extended Range on those shots (when up high). Ships can brave the waterfall going down into the bay, but must roll a d6. On a 1-3, they lose one cargo. On a 4-6, they get +L to their base move after their other move segments are resolved.
What do you think of the house rules?
The ship in the picture will be in the game… 😀
More details to follow….
