This is so cool! I bet it was really surreal to them to play a game they created almost 20 years ago and play it in modern day. This was a great read and maybe just maybe the game will pick up again some day.

My question for Mike would be:

How come the Cursed were designed to be so much weaker than the other factions? Was it the fear of their gimmicky abilities being too strong?

they lack many staples the other factions have such as a canceler, world hater, reroller, +5 limit ransom crew, etc.

How did the Sea Monsters look and feel to play as? Did they have realistic animations? I played a bit online but was young and didn’t have money at the time so I never got to use them.

I don’t think PotC set should be allowed in tournaments. Yeah, the whole set. Here’s why:

No, because the Sacrifice ability only resolved if the crew sacrificed is removed from the game. This is because it is a cost to activate said ability. The “Doctor” ability only works on crew that would be eliminated.

I find it amusing that he’s complaining about Spain(One of the best factions in the game second only to Pirates imo) being “shafted” when the Cursed and Vikings have been sitting at the back of the boat ever since release. For both gameplay and looks?

This can be any Sea Monster, Kraken, Titan, etc.

For gameplay, I’m partial to Behemoth due to its versatility.

For looks, it’s gotta be the Mistwalker. The “undead skeletal sea serpent” motiff is very scary looking.
