It’s a weird situation, because both the Kraken and the surrounded ship are basically locked in contact with each other from all directions. So while you can technically target either of them independently with that ability, neither can actually be moved without making contact (again) with the other.
In other words, Tsuro’s ability can’t…

If a kraken is surrounding a ship and is moved L by Tsuro, does the surrounded ship move with it or does it break the surround?

The production on that was a lot further along than I’d realized; aside from printing the actual cards for the book, it looks like it was mostly done.
It’s neat seeing the actual (maybe) artwork for the gem shards too, even if it was just in the book and not on UT tokens. It’s about what I expected. Nothing fancy, but it would serve the purpose well enough.
The fact that they added a tiny spot in the plastic shell for the micro dice is pretty funny. I’m kinda surprised they wouldn’t have used larger, more normal-sized dice for this at least. There would have been plenty of space for them… or even more than just two of the tiny ones.

Are the choices on when the additional 5 points from 0LR+5 crew determined in the same order as the player turn order? Just want to make sure I get the order right. Ex: Player 1 places all crew, then adds their +5 (which may include events or equipment). Player 2 places all crew, then their +5 choices. Then both players place any equipment (?…[Read more]

If a ship with the S-Exploring ability is L away from an island and has a base move of L remaining, can it move to dock with the island, using the S-Explore during the move segment and then taking advantage to explore the island as soon as it docks?
Once per turn, if this ship is within S of an island, you may mark the island as explored without…

Sandra said she won’t be on the Pirates CSG Podcast since she doesn’t remember enough of it, and because she oversaw all the games at Wizkids during that time so she didn’t have as much direct involvement as Shane Hartley and the other artists.

From this answer:
The rule to reveal treasure immediately is carried over from the illustrated rules, and ties into the “more than half” rule for ending the game. It’s not exactly the best way to handle the endgame, so feel free to continue ignoring those rules and keep using the multiplayer rules for everything instead.

Ben replied to the topic What is the most underrated ship type in the game? in the forum Pirates CSG 3 years, 7 months ago
I’m not sure if they’re underrated, but I’ve been growing more attached to Galleys recently. Having a pseudo-Oarsman on them is pretty nice as it often forces your opponent to expend extra time to finishing off a mastless Galley. In some cases it’s still better to just have the Oarsman, but it’s nice as a built-in feature.
Agreed. On a similar no…[Read more]

I think most players are well aware of how powerful flotillas can be, especially in deathmatch. You need the right ship to drag one around, but there are numerous good options in every nation that has them.
I’ve certainly vouched for them a lot over the years, but I’ve almost never come across someone else using one. Such great bang for the b…[Read more]
