    This is an awesome idea my friends and i have been making custom crew of eachother for a while

    I sort them by nationality then ship type so I just look for the flags and ship type I want exp.pirate 3 last gunner I have a lot of those but now I only have to search through 20 ships and not 100+

    I like the idea of using flat cardstock of the propper shape to represent sunken stuff that would especially be cool to be underneath a fogbank or mabye iceberg.

    I should have been more clear that by raking I mean pulling up to a ship in L or T position and targeting the stern.

    I see where your coming from xerecs but there are lots of obvious balances to be made I cant remember names but there is alot of ships that have the exact same stats but one has a lower cost or a much more useful ability and the same cost.(the former is much more jarring to me than the latter)

    Raking could give -1 to connon roll and deal 2 masts if you can shoot their stern, I think a crew with that ability would be nice and cheep or maybe just beef up the cannoneer

    I HATE meta gaming and I feel like one of the best ways to avoid it is by nerfs and occasional buffs for example why not try costing musketeers at 2 and helmsman at 3?

    I like that idea, this may be off topic a bit but my group has been developing an additional rule. I kinda ripped off carbon Charlie in that you can spend a gold coin when docking to repair an extra mast so that could be used in conjunction with your mercenary rule.(thematically its like hiring more builder or maybe just paying them to work overtime)

    In a heartbeat I would trade nearly anything for a ten master, switchblade, kraken, bombardeir,turbine or hoist. My reason is that I don’t have a single ship with these designs. Im not so much a stat guy since I can play with whatever stats I want but i can’t change the shape of the models.

    I definitely like the idea of an intelligent AI. The way I intended to handle the enemy ships was to have them pursue the closest ship at all cost but that was because my group and I were imagining the bloodthirsty cursed faction of ghosts and etc…

    Something I always think of for interesting abilities like broadsides is making whole scenarios around it for example everyship has broadsides as an ability.

    I think its just specifying that unlike other broadsides she might not look like she can broadside but that it DEFINITELY can.(thats what I think at least)

    Nayalitu is a nice crew, great use of an ability that I didnt see as very viable on the crew I saw wizkids produce(this crew must be the first eliminated.)

    I don’t recall seeing her negative ability on a Wizkids crew, but thanks!

    What I was remembering was the dummy ability(you may eliminate this crew instead of another crew you would eliminate)

    Jerrison and Darren are each crew I would be happy to find in a booster pack.Jerrison would be a great way to save cargo with his 2 in 1 ability plus his link and Darrens ability excites me with the idea of having a fleet based around stopping the enemy from getting home and either HI raiding or boarding/flitching gold or really anyway to rob em blind lol

    Exactly I always thought it was funny that they made a crazy number of masts on ships without having even close to a realistic number of cannons lol(from what I understand and 10 masted ships are debatibly legend and myth)
