Luke MenzieParticipantVery very last minute, but I thought I may as well enter!
[Toro Tows Sailless Silliness](https://psmlist.com/public/fleet/show/7933523465/toro_tows_sailless)
Made for Ben’s challenge Jan 2024.
Cargo Masters do give space to Flotillas, so Santana+Armada should work.
George and the Cargo Master are from RtSS, so if you don’t recognize em that’s why!
Lamon is used for extra actions and should either stay docked or submerged the whole game.
Hopefully nobody remembers that George exists, as people only really use Mycron. Abuse this with Raptor Maw to totally destroy with double action sea dragon! Add Santana, and now Raptor Maw has got even better cannons!
Toro+Armada is something of a hybrid, with the potential for 4 2S+S cannons and 4 3L cannons shooting in a turn, and coming back home with 1 treasure, but +2 to the value. A max move of L+L is nothing to scoff at neither, especially cuz he can crawl over islands. Plus the cargo destruction…
Also is there a ruling on a Titan crawling over an island while towing something? Can Armada follow Toro over an island? I didn’t see anything against it in the code…
If things get desperate (like Raptor Maw and Toro gets destroyed) perhaps drop off George and utilize Lamon as another treasure runner with only 1 space?

120 points.

The goal of this fleet is to cargo smash the Flying Dutchman, Executioner and Abomination of the Cursed Fleet. Zeus and Grand Path will inevitably die, but hopefully they will have cleared out enough of the cursed fleet for Republique to survive with her ability afterward.

Luke MenzieParticipantSo given that Sea Monsters and Titans cannot be rammed, what is the point of the ability text of Empress (crew) and Hanc*ck (ship)? “If this ship wins a ram roll against a sea monster or titan, remove two segments instead of one.” I just can’t imagine a completely useless ability, a niche one sure, but not an invalid one.
I had to censor the ship name because the profanity detector went off. *=o

Luke MenzieParticipantThey may not go over the point limit of the ship, but they do go over the point limit of the fleet. 60 points is a lot more common than 68 lol. I really wanted every ship to have a captain. And yes! There is a Black Diamond, it’s where I live, about an hour north of Rainier (big missed chance for a named crew right there). I’m just making my fleets using my collection stuff, so there’s probably more efficient builds. Always appreciates hypotheticals though!

Luke MenzieParticipantHometown Pride (60)
USS Seattle+Captain+Helmsman+Oarsman (19)
USS Bellevue+Montana Mays (OE)+Captain+Helmsman+Shipwright+Oarsman (27)
Black Diamond+Jonah+Le Requin+Helmsman+Captain (14)
Another Combat fleet, but with a twist. All of these ships have the names of cities out here in the PNW. The tentative idea is that Black Diamond can move (L+S)*2 and weaken an enemy ship. USS Bellevue is close behind moving at the same speed, shooting all along the way, eventually delivering the Shipwright to any derelicts they create. USS Seattle can hang back and ferry gold, or swoop into the fight at a moments notice. I know full well how ineffective this fleet is, but I think it’d be fun regardless.

Luke MenzieParticipantHey Cole! Couple questions for you: Have you joined the Pirates CSG Discord yet? If so what’s your username? Where are you based out of? Any particular favorite crew or ship in particular?

Luke MenzieParticipantRamsical 40 Points
El Ballista+Helmsman (11)
Le Lyon+Helmsman+Captain (19)
L’Afrique+Captain (10)
It’s time for a GIMMICK FLEET™! El ballista goes in first to hopefully kill a useful crew member. Le Lyon follows close behind to ram/shoot them again. L’Afrique takes potshots from afar or secures a ram kill. Each ship has at least one available cargo space to steal some gold. Watch as your opponent scratches their head in puzzlement!
Suggestions for this fleet:
- Towing is bad, leave derelicts for sinking or stealing.
- Kill those pesky gold runners first, murder is fun!
- Utilize Lyon to get gold if Ballista and Afrique are enough of a distraction.
- For 60 points add: Cursed Blade+Helmsman (13), Bloody Jewel+Explorer (7)

Luke MenzieParticipantI don’t think it’s possible for anyone to get that lucky. I set up this fleet to have an excuse to use Calico Cat and Griffin together after Lance (Soul X Crusader) hooked me up with them.
September 19, 2021 at 11:26 PM #13831
Luke MenzieParticipantHybrid Hell/2 in 2 out
Pride+Calico Cat, Griffin (25)
La Santa Isabel+Captain, Helmsman, Oarsman (19)
Le Coeur Du Lion+Explorer (3)
Le Courageux+Helmsman, Explorer (13)
For a 60 point build total that I used against Ben today! Every single ship has some amount of combat ability, and available space to ferry some gold. I purposely kept them together in pairs, until I didn’t and paid the price for it. The Pride for sure is a lead gunship, and a bit fragile, but with Isabel close behind they make for a devastating combo. Courageux is my (current) favorite ship in the game. Despite being without a captain she proved very combat worthy. Courageux can take hits (2 hits=1 mast damaged if she has all masts) and shoot back as well with a 2S and 3L variety guns. The Lion can also pile into the battle. After most the gold is retrieved, drop off the explorer, and presto! Your very own 2L support gunship.
After thinking for a bit, for a 40 point total I’d do the following: Remove Pride and her crew. Replace the Lion with the Carolina, keep the explorer. Or remove oarsman from Isabel, Executioner instead of Lion/Carolina. Boom. Snap. Crackle. Pop

Luke MenzieParticipantHey there y’all,
I’m from Black Diamond, WA. I would definitely describe myself as entirely a player. I have no interest in keeping unpunched cards lying around, when instead I could use their untapped fleet potential against my enemies. The name “Grammaring” comes from my hate for English class and acts as a big FU to all my college professors. I got into Pirates CSG around a month ago when I found an unopened Spanish Main pack at my local games store in the bargain bin. I’ve been scouring Ebay ever since looking for a reasonable price for a fleet, regardless of rarity or condition. So far I’ve only gotten my cousin and a friend to throw some dice with me. I’m currently looking for anyone in the Seattle-ish area to get their Pirate on. I love all sorts of miniature games, but the charm of constructing a little fleet, and the limitless combos of islands/terrain maps captured me right away. Portability is also a big + in my book.
A little post script for all of you collectors: I would suggest setting up a couple “starter sets” for newish players, or anyone who wants to get into Pirates CSG. It’s insane that I could only find buzzwords like “rarity gold, 5 mast rare, extreme limited” when searching for Pirates stuff. There were no islands, common crew, coins, dice, and basic ships for the average player. Please, if you have extras of these, post them! I promise there is interest, throw a couple lots out there and see what happens!
