Circle of Blood!  This scenario from Riz is one I’ve played a few times before, and this time it would be in Las Vegas against my friend Captain Randy.  We also used these house rules, a […]

Game in Las Vegas Nevada – Points in Play at 2×60

This game in Las Vegas Nevada was with Captain Randy!  The player with the most total points in play (including gold) would be the winner.  We also u […]

  • The Eye’s effect only lasts until the end of the player’s own turn.  It does not carry over to opposing player turns, and then has to be reset at the beginning of the player’s next turn, even if they do choose the same ability again.

On a related note, for win condition #3 on page 14, can the phrase “a player” mean the opposing player, or does e…[Read more]

    Water World Returns
    8/31/2022
The first game of seven on my 2022 Las Vegas trip saw the return of brettb45’s Water World scenario!  This is a super fun game idea I pretty much always enjoy playing.  We played a […]

  • Is it possible to upload an spread sheet document? That the format I have until I get bact to my computer.

No, but you can try copying and pasting the text from it into a post here, or better yet share a google sheets/etc link to an online version of the spreadsheet.  I can also make a sheet for you in the Customs Database if you want.

  • Cool. The game was definitely a bit of a crapshoot, though we expected that. It’s hard to strategize when there’s so little room to make your strategies work, and with so few coins to go around. I’m actually still surprised only one player was shut out.

  • Yeah, I think collection choices and the 40 point limit prevented those factions for the most part. I think somebody said they wanted to go Vikings but the fleet wasn’t going to be much good.

Haha that would be epic. I don’t anticipate seeing this many players again for a while, but perhaps it could happen!

  • Yeah we’re definitely planning to get the big ships out to some parks before it gets cold up here!

Yeah, I’ve got another youtube video coming where he talks about that. More could definitely be created. I think a campaign with supersized stuff would be far more pain than it would be worth. Plus you’d want to play indoors since the foamboard…[Read more]

    ELEVEN Player Game
Mox Boarding House in Portland Oregon

With a HUGE amount of help from Redgoat and Witch, I met up with a ton of people at Mox Boarding House in Portland Oregon for a whopping ELEVEN […]

    • Hmmm. No one used the Cursed, Jades or Vikings. Interesting. Cursed could have been a very interesting faction choice given some of the “fast” monsters in DJC and giving them captain as a built in house rule. Perhaps next time. 😀

Anywho, an awesome read and an epic event in recorded Pirates history! Repeating myself a bit but I’m gonna have to find some time at some point and head on up there for a while, maybe bring Darkhurst and Gingerninja with. That could lead to a 14-15 player game. 0.0

    • Given the scenario I’ve been thinking of a 40 point Cursed fleet. My main hurdle is that I don’t own Gog-Cloctoth, I think, and which direction I’d want to go with said fleet. One route does focus on gold, the other is more combat oriented.

    • I’m gonna have to figure out when I can take some time off and head up there for a week or so. Pirates convention anyone? 😀

Super cool to see the giant ships in action! Did you and Redgoat discuss how the ships were made? If it’s not too difficult more ships could reach Epic scale, though I don’t think you’d be able to play a campaign at Epic Scale. Probably. 😀

Yeah, I’ve got another youtube video coming where he talks about that. More could definitely be created. I think a campaign with supersized stuff would be far more pain than it would be worth. Plus you’d want to play indoors since the foamboard doesn’t stand up to the rain/elements well. So you’d need like a warehouse lol.

  • Yeah, a bit of regression similar to what we saw through the Pirates CSG production run. Though, similar to Pirates, I’ll still be buying whatever they come up with next. Pirates 6 is looking more likely now. 😀 To me even a subpar PotC movie is still better than ~98% of movies I watch.

  • Ahoy there Wayland, welcome aboard!

At this point I just horde my collection. Not many people play here and I play really large games.

Nice, sounds kinda like me!  Feel free to add yourself to the Player Locator Map if you haven’t already.
