Canceller— The cancel ability.

This is like explaining shorthand with shorthand. Better to just have the exact ability text for any explanations. (I’ve probably missed some completely with mine, but that’s another reason I like having a spreadsheet people can view online – all the abbreviations/keywords I use are listed on the third tab of the sp…[Read more]

@Xerecs: Oops, Pentheus has always been 9 points! Edited his post.

Vamprah is OP as I could have expected… it’s a little tiring to see so many new/amazing abilities with no cap after it’s clear that capping these range/unlimited abilities is one of the best solutions for them. Between the Makuta keyword and his final ability, he’s almost g…[Read more]

Ben started the topic The Random (PCSG) Topic Thread in the forum Pirates CSG 7 years, 11 months ago

Just like the “Hijack this thread” at Miniature Trading, this is a place for on-topic Pirates CSG discussion that is random in nature, short in discussion potential, and/or simply doesn’t deserve its own thread.

As lord_denton said:

I just want to put some spark back into the community as we sit around without any community-building-type things…

Ben started the topic Game Ideas in the forum Pirates CSG 7 years, 11 months ago

I have converted the Game Ideas thread from Miniature Trading into a standard page. This thread is for any Game Ideas submissions you have that are NOT already on the list, and I will likely add them to that page, crediting your username as the creator. This thread can also be a launch point for discussion/revision of basic game ideas, though la…[Read more]
Ben started the topic List your Mismatched/Spare Parts HERE in the forum Pirates CSG 7 years, 11 months ago

This is the thread to list your spare parts. If you have half of a ship (only card 2/2 for example), or a bunch of random stuff, please list it here. Each person can have one post in this thread for their “spare parts haves and wants”. I will edit this post here with my list once I confirm everything.
Ben started the topic The non-eBay Sales & Trades thread in the forum Pirates CSG 7 years, 11 months ago

To paraphrase Holofernes:

If you want to sell on-topic, Pirates related stuff here in the forums (versus on Bay), or want an opinion on what xyz collection or set is worth, or want to buy or trade something… post it to this thread instead of starting a new one, to keep the forums market free. Then those who want to buy and those who want to…[Read more]
Ben started the topic The eBay Sales thread in the forum Pirates CSG 7 years, 11 months ago

Just like the one from Miniature Trading!

As Holofernes said in 2008:

This thread is here for you to tell people about something you spotted (or are selling) on eBay, to keep the forums clean.

As with the other eBay/Amazon links on this site, my links will be affiliate links (making it possible for me to earn a commission on links that lead to…[Read more]
Ben started the topic Battle Reports in the forum Pirates CSG 7 years, 11 months ago

This is the official Battle Reports thread here at Pirates with Ben. Any and all reports of your games can go in this thread – do not create a new thread unless it is for a large campaign game with 3+ reports. My BR’s will generally be submitted here from now on, where I’m currently reposting one old BR per week every Friday.

Right now I’m pla…[Read more]

Ben started the topic WARNING: Please save large posts for yourself in the forum Pirates CSG 7 years, 11 months ago

The failures that began in summer 2017 of various websites I relied upon have made me realize that web content is not safe, and it is not necessarily “forever”. First it was photobucket, the breaking of which took out all of my battle reports. Then postimages changed their url’s, which broke picture battle reports once again (but at least t…[Read more]
Ben replied to the topic Custom Ships (post your custom game pieces here!) in the forum Pirates CSG 7 years, 11 months ago

I suppose, but honestly I think most of the ships with the Makuta keyword were okay, outside of the ones I’ve previously mentioned of course. Antroz would be 13 if Makuta=7 + AA=6.

At this point Mutran is too much of a wild card for me to guess his cost. As usual, he should probably be more expensive.
Ben replied to the topic Custom Ships (post your custom game pieces here!) in the forum Pirates CSG 7 years, 11 months ago

The Makuta keyword is worth 7 points at minimum. +2 to cannon rolls is fantastic (8 points for that makes a lot of sense obviously), and the additional linking option is neat. Trying to keep it at 5 (basically what basic +1 world haters are already worth) seems futile to me. So Antroz should be at least 13.

I assume Wizkids left the origins of…[Read more]
