What about Trade Currents? Would it be possible to get a picture of that game piece or is it also in Vassal?

I’m actually not seeing any pictures of trade currents with a few quick looks.  They are in VASSAL, as you can see if you download the module.

Indeed, sometimes buying lots on eBay (including punched/used) is a good way to expand a collection without spending a ton of money.

Exactly.  That’s how we’ve done icebergs in VASSAL actually – with fog banks that have a face up coin for the number in the middle.

@CaptainPlunder: Those 4 ships are definitely not equal, but there are sort of two “tiers” with the Golden Medusa and Lady’s Scorn at the top (in that order, for me at least) and the Rum Runner and Revenge at the bottom (also in that order).

I would simply go with the one that you like the best, or perhaps that looks the coolest.  I assume you’re trying to choose which one to use in an upcoming game?

Pirates captures everything I was wanting to do with beauty and simplicity that I would have spent more time and resources trying to do with LEGO. The scale would have been much bigger than Pirates. I prefer the scale Pirates uses freeing up more table space.

How do you organize your collections? What is the best ways to store ships that is efficient but easy to find ships and all their parts?

Recently I stumbled across two 36 pack boxes, one of Revolution and one of Barbary Coast and decided to buy them so I could force my friends to play.

Even I haven’t done that… I love Pirates, but I don’t think anyone should be forced to play it.  At least those are good sets to garner interest with!

Would this apply to fire masts?  I would think not, because the intent behind “remove” is more similar to “eliminate” than “replace”.
