What is your biggest accomplishment in Pirates CSG?
Ex: could be becoming an envoy, winning a tournament, beating good players in the online game, completing your collection, making a big contribution to the community that is helpful/that people use.
In my opinion my biggest accomplishment is my 3-0 record in non-solo campaign games. The battle reports for CG1/2/3 can be found in the Compendium. Those games took a lot of time and effort to set up and play, not to mention the exciting and awesome strategies used to win. After a ton of playing on my own it was great to prove myself as the ultimate CG player with generally dominant wins again and again.
(honorable mentions to helping to keep the game alive and reviving VASSAL, though both of those are much more subjective) Building Pirates with Ben is arguably tied for #1, but for me nothing beats the thrill of a non-solo campaign game and winning them the ways I did.
September 3, 2019 at 10:11 AM #9255WoelfModeratorBecoming the RA is an obvious one for me, although I’d have to say the biggest actual accomplishment was writing up a 50+ page FAQ pretty much from scratch, and then expanding and updating it for years afterwards.
I couldn’t even begin to calculate the amount of time that went into it, and it’s not a project I’d ever want to even think about doing again, but it was well worth the effort.

You’ve done a TON! I think you’re at 2 campaign game wins? That alone is a huge investment of time and effort, not to mention strategic prowess. All the custom sets, physical customs, custom islands, youtube channel, etc etc…. 😀

But I will say I lost far more than I ever won ? but I never had a huge collection so perhaps with more finances I can now have more options to mess with.

I suppose, though I’ve been outwitted several times in the games we’ve played. 😀
A thread like this one will be difficult for me to answer to, simply because I don’t like to talk up (or brag/gloat whatever) things that I’ve done.
That said, to add on to your praise, something I’m more or less proud of is an annual Campaign game, that’s going on it’s fifth year….. 0.0
October 5, 2019 at 1:01 PM #9796JackParticipantI’ve always been way more a collector. A couple friends played the game when I was younger but I moved and never found anyone else who played it. So honestly I think my proudest moment was when I bought the Spanish Main Snipe online. It was my favorite ship as a kid, and my little brother broke it when he was 2. I went through Spanish Main packs for years trying to pull it again unsuccessfully before seeing it on e-Bay about a decade later. She now sits at the head of my pirate fleet collection.

…
That’s probably it… ???(I don’t count my custom ship makings as a majority of them require adjustments and ret-conning; so they’re not quite done just yet ?)

Indeed, that is very impressive. Consistency of play is tough given how many players stopped after 2008/2009, and I certainly know about the massive time and effort that goes into each and every campaign game ever played and (especially) finished. 🙂
