Sorry for the forum being a little rough around the edges – I think all that code shows up because you may have pasted my text directly into the Visual tab and then switched to Text. (or something else)
I’ve found that pasting as plaintext (ctrl+shift+v on a PC) helps. It’s something I’d like to fix, but there is a LOT of Pirates CSG stuff I h…[Read more]

Ben replied to the topic Community too scattered? in the forum Pirates CSG 7 years, 9 months ago
As-is, things are a little scattered, but it also feels a little overwhelming, with the number of places now that you can go to for pirates stuff.
I feel that way when I go to post a new video/etc. So many places to put the link in order to maximize reach/views. It’s nice and kinda just a hallmark of the modern internet/social media, but it f…[Read more]

The weather was a mix, it was definitely in the rain at least once or more. The pieces feel about the same as before, which doesn’t surprise me because another ship felt fine after being completely submerged for many months on end.
Thanks for commenting by the way! It should help the site out, with Google rankings and whatnot since they see other…[Read more]

Awesome! I absolutely love hearing from people who remember this game and/or still enjoy it. It’s almost like a lost gem of board games at this point haha!
There is an active Facebook group.
Not to mention a Discord server and some other sites where Pirates CSG is being discussed. Thanks for commenting!

Ben commented on the post, Pirates of the Caribbean movies – Ranking them all! 7 years, 9 months ago
@Nick Cooke: Thanks! And yeah, the 3rd movie is unmatched in terms of epicness and sheer scale, which I value quite highly. I rewatched all the movies in the leadup to Dead Men Tell No Tales coming out and it was great.
If Johnny Depp truly doesn’t come back, I think it would simultaneously discourage a big part of the fanbase (just yesterday I…[Read more]

Thanks for the comment! I do still recommend the movie, especially for fans of the series in general. Unfortunately it was a bit disappointing, but still a good movie.Have fun,

@Teo Chee Shi: Thanks! I hesitate to call myself an expert since there are undoubtedly various Rules questions I’ll still have to ask Woelf (the Rules Arbitrator/Guru), but I’ve certainly learned a lot about the game over the past 7+ years! 😀
Sounds great! If you are interested in learning how to play, I have some rules tutorials on youtube.…[Read more]

Ben commented on the post, Pirates CSG Review – My favorite game ever 7 years, 9 months ago
@Owain: It’s a ton of fun. Using the basic rules with a reasonable build total (~40 points), it’s pretty easy to learn compared to complex board games and turns don’t take very long unless someone has a ton of points in play to give actions to.
Thanks for commenting!

Ben commented on the post, Pirates CSG Megacards – Collection Review #21 7 years, 9 months ago
@El Tiburón: Thank you so much! I was definitely overwhelmed for multiple YEARS after I joined Miniature Trading in 2011 – unless you have a very large collection that you’ve looked at or played with a lot, there’s a ton of game pieces to discover and learn about.
Wow, Guichuan vs. Acorazado sounds awesome! With an even number of points (or…[Read more]

@Xerecs: We have some early collecting similarities. I wasn’t into the actual game from the start either, and I also got a Broken Key box.
Fun to hear about your collection. Trading opportunities still exist, it’s just that the framework is less streamlined than MT. You could try PM’s on here or the Facebook BST group; Pojo also has a trading…[Read more]
