Just picked up my box of 36 crimson coast packs. What treasures lie within? What are your favorite crimson coast pieces? Is there any better feeling than cracking packs?
March 10, 2020 at 1:37 PM #10690RobertParticipantUpdate: I slaughtered them all! I managed to pull the roanoke, as well as several great rares. The highlight of the packs included acquiring SIX New five masters! Along with 4 new forts ( I previously only had one) As I previously owned no crimson coast, here is the data for rate of duplicates to unique ships -45 out of 72 or 62 percent were unique! A pretty decent rate. Out of the 36 packs there was one error- 2 San fernando 2/2s were included in the same pack. Overall, I am quite happy with my purchase- having spent about 100$ on the pack + shipping I except to be able to recoup some of my cost through selling the commons in bulk, and rares as singles. If anyone is interested in some of my duplicates let me know! I would love to hear some of your box opening stories- this is the first time I’ve bought a full box and it was tons of fun!

March 15, 2020 at 6:47 PM #10702XerecsModeratorI’ve done this once with a FS 36 pack box, sometime between 2015 and 2016. My brothers and I split opening the packs, nine a piece, and we’d keep whatever we pulled. Highlight for me was pulling Lord Mycron out of the last pack.
I still have some duplicates hanging around from that, but I haven’t traded or sold them, since duplicate ships is how I get Custom Ships to come off of the paper.

Honestly a HUGE percentage of the set. I think it is the set with the least amount of flaws (or “most perfect”). Raven, Royal James, Victoire, HMS London, Deliverance and the French 5 masters come to mind first. Lots of good crew too.

Not much better, it’s classic and nostalgic. I do prefer a close and exciting game though, or of course winning a campaign game on VASSAL which is my ultimate “high” from Pirates CSG. Nice pic.
I assume you mean San Francisco? (San Fernando would likely be a very rare misprint haha)
Always fun opening boxes – most of my full box openings were from 2011-2014. You can see a somewhat old summary here. My FN box from November 2014 was solid.
Glad you got a lot of great stuff you wanted – CC is an incredible set.
April 8, 2020 at 4:00 PM #10799ChrisParticipantI just opened a Revolution Special Edition Box! In addition to the Franklin, I pulled some nice ships like the Panda, HMS Swallow & the Unique Treasure Sextant.
