Ahoy mateys!
I need some advise on 4 four masted pirate ships that are of equal strength, etc… any recommendations?

I would simply go with the one that you like the best, or perhaps that looks the coolest. I assume you’re trying to choose which one to use in an upcoming game?

You are correct sir! I am actually wanting to introduce the game to my wife and kids and would like all of us to use ships from the Pirate faction of equal value to balance everything out. That way none of us are OP of one another.
Avast! =/\=
October 2, 2019 at 2:45 PM #9756Captain PlunderParticipantSo…I will be ordering my 4 four mast ships:
1. Revenge 11-4-4-L-4S,4L,4L,4S
2. Golden Medusa 15-4-4-S+L-3L,2L,2L,3S
3. Lady’s Scorn 15-4-4-S+S-3S,3L,3L,3S
4. Rum Runner 13-4-4-S+S-4L,4L,4L,4L
The best I could do!?! =/\=

October 2, 2019 at 3:44 PM #9759BenKeymaster@CaptainPlunder: Those 4 ships are definitely not equal, but there are sort of two “tiers” with the Golden Medusa and Lady’s Scorn at the top (in that order, for me at least) and the Rum Runner and Revenge at the bottom (also in that order).
I would concentrate more on learning the rules and having fun rather than trying to have completely “equal” fleets. I’ve certainly lost games where I had the better fleet “on paper”, and I’ve won games against opponents who had a better fleet than me.

I appreciate the heads up on my ships selection. I know I have a lot to learn sailing the high seas. My overall goal is for my family and I to have fun! The choice of those ships were difficult, but I am a dad on a budget, I wanted ships with four masts, and it will make things interesting.
October 2, 2019 at 4:40 PM #9763RandyModeratoralways keep a eye out for affordable lots/people selling collections. Use the classic selling/trading sites, sometimes you get lucky. Buying individual ships can get sooo costly soo fast, but sometimes you buy a reasonable set and find some great hidden gems including bigger ships. I feel your pain, brother!!! I wanted 4 masters and 5 masters so badly, that I got reckless more than once haha! Good luck out there, pal!!
October 2, 2019 at 4:51 PM #9766BenKeymasterIndeed, sometimes buying lots on eBay (including punched/used) is a good way to expand a collection without spending a ton of money.
