Over the course of this year I’ve read through almost all the posts in the old Proboards forum when a fan-made set was being discussed back in 2009.
Lots of interesting custom ideas and discussion. Overall I think a more clear direction was needed, along with some financial backing and/or some people that had huge amounts of free time. All to say that the lessons of that forum are part of the reason I’ve gone at this project largely alone for most of this year – for any of it to succeed, I think it’s a must that somebody had to take the full plunge and keep the consistency going for many months in a row.
