I got in on ground floor, way back in the fist Spanish Main, played until, I believe, Ocean’s Edge, when one player perished in our small group and the game didn’t feel right, got back in lately mainly due to running a One Piece game and needing ships with good art for sea battles.
80/20 There are ones I want to collect (main goal every 10 mast and Junk, I am getting there), so I would say player/role player (as I made history for the below mentioned Cardians) Collection wise I have about two single rows of ships/islands (with some ships I keep assembled, looking at you ten mast pains in the poop deck)
The physical mechanics, I mean 2d cards becoming 3d models, best of 2 worlds, it blew my mind (and still does). Favorite piece is Zephyr, I mean L+L move? Drop an explorer on it, send it to scout to find the best pieces then send the larger storage pieces behind a combat escort.
None I know of, I think I was on a ship creation thing when I was making a whole faction called the Cardians, but that has been lost to time.
