My 2018 Pirates CSG Hall of Fame ballot:
Rizz (aka Riz the Bloody)
Rizz has been one of the most helpful community members for many years. He has submitted various documents and uploaded useful files to BGG, including some ship and crew card blanks. He had one of the most entertaining Pirate websites, the Corsairs of Douglas County, until it was…[Read more]
The current Hall of Fame, by order of induction:
This poll shows that people would generally like for Hall of Fame inductions to happen at the end of each year. Each person can have a ballot of people they think deserve induction to the Pirates CSG Hall of Fame.

Someone commented on my Zeus building video that the scale of the game might be close to 1/900. Has anyone tried to verify something like that? It seems difficult because many of the ship types are not exactly the same as Age of Sail designs, and therefore some of the historical ships (Queen Anne’s Revenge, Constitution, etc) don’t match properly.

Likely my last physical game of Pirates CSG for quite some time!
This is a report for a nice family game played with relatives near the end of the Thanksgiving weekend. We set up […]
Probably my last physical game for quite a while: Post TG family game
This must have been answered before but I can’t find full confirmation in the Code. If a Sea Monster does not have sufficient cargo space and wins a boarding party, can it eliminate a non-Unique Treasure from the enemy ship?
Suppose a derelict is still pinned to the Sea Monster that rammed it. Can a separate enemy ship initiate a tow while t…[Read more]
I’m wondering if I bought good packs though, there seem to be a lot of expansions out there. Is revolution a good set?
One of the best ever, and a steady favorite since it came out. I ranked the sets here, and many people consider RV their favorite.
Does it have all the generic crew like Captain, helmsman, oarsman etc. that came in the first two…
The person who made the captions page I use for instagram posts is named… Albert Renshaw. O_O Maybe he’s a descendent of Albert Crenshaw from RV? XD
Talked about this briefly on a not-so-recent podcast with Godmason.
What do you think the length of a 10 master’s hull measures? (where it meets the water)
-Neither (feel free to guess in inches or centimeters)
How about the length of a 10 master from stem to stern? (total length)
-Neither (feel free to guess in inches or…[Read more]
Nice lot here; not many rares but a great description.
Welcome aboard matey!
But this time around I’ll be playing the game by the written instructions for the first time. I was much to young back then to really care about reading the manual and preferred to make up my own naval battles.
Don’t see many factory sets nowadays. There’s one of BC.
Think about free online/phone games, constructible parts not suitable for young children, ships “easily breakable”, potential economic downturn, decline of physical retail stores, Wizkids may look at MT and real…[Read more]
This looks familiar… I think I also have at least one Fairfield box stuffed with unopened rules packets. XD Not sure why a picture of the actual packs isn’t included.
HWG’s daily deal today is 36 packs of RV for $54: http://www.wholesalegaming.biz/

Quick Game with 2 Players at 50 Points
I rolled to go first with this English fleet:
My opponent rolled a 1 to go second, with one of the new skull dice I received as a gift from Captain Randy when […]
Why do you prefer Pirates over other games?
The breadth of situations and game pieces the game explores. Some entire games might stick to fighting between square-rigged galleons, Pirates has exploration, ramming, submerged vessels, repairing, towing, sea monsters, forts, and the potential to randomly toss new mechanics into the mix on the…
